Why weren’t they arrested?

Back in June, Four Chrsitians were arrested in Minnestoa for passing out leaflets at an Arab festival. Remember this? The Christians were arraigned and are being represented by the same brilliant legal team that brought my free speech lawsuit against Detroit, The Thomas More Law Center.

Yesterday, Muslims were proslytizing and passing out Islamic leaflets at a fair in Minnesota.  The AP plays it this way: Muslims Take to Minn. State Fair to Repair Image. (hat tip Her Royal Whyness) The police did nothing. Why two sets of rules for Muslims and non- Muslims? The sharia (Islamic law)

So based on that - why weren't these Muslims arrested?

Muslims Proseltize at Minnesota fair

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Despite the smells of fried dough and roasted meat wafting from the Minnesota State Fair, Salim and Zuleyha Ozonder were focused on the people who were leaving, not the food or festivities beckoning from across the street.

Each time a new wave of people exited, the young Minneapolis residents — who hadn't eaten all day — tried to press into their hands a small, glossy card that read "Islam Explained" on one side. On the other, it had about 180 words of background on a religion whose adherents fear is being misunderstood by too many Americans as violent and depraved.

"You just want people to take the card, spend a minute reading it and say, 'Oh. They're not terrorists,'" said 27-year-old Zuleyha. She and her husband, like other Muslims, were fasting during daylight hours for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

For most fairgoers, the last thing on their mind is religion — particularly the renewed controversy over Islam in America amid tension over plans for an Islamic center and mosque a few blocks from New York City's ground zero. But volunteers with the Minnesota chapter of Islamic Circle of North America saw the mostly white, Christian fair crowd as just the type of audience that might benefit from greater understanding.

The "Great Minnesota Get-Together" is one of the largest and best-attended state fairs in the country. Every day for 12 days through Labor Day, hundreds of thousands of people stream onto the fairgrounds north of St. Paul to scarf highly caloric food, stare at farm animals, clamber onto carnival rides and enjoy concerts by country singers and classic rock dinosaurs.

"What are they doing here?" said Paulette Kahlstorf of Zimmerman, who declined a card from Zuleyha as she left the fairgrounds with her husband. "I didn't come here for that."

A minute later, Kahlstorf elaborated that she didn't have a problem with all Muslims: "Just the radical ones." And she said she didn't mind their decision to hand out the cards, which include a toll-free number that anyone can call to request a free copy of the Quran.

"You know, I guess we let all the politicians come out here and schmooze, so we might as well let these folks as well," said Kahlstorf. "Doesn't mean I need to listen to them."

Called on the Carpet: Obama’s New WH Rug Muffs History
He grew up in Indonesia, his father was a Kenyan, and he’s been fighting the perception that he isn’t much of an American since he became a nationally known entity. Unfortunately for President Obama, his redecoration of the Oval Office is not helping him just as ignorant about America as his critics claim because the [...]
The Absolution of Barack Obama
Newsweek‘s Jonathan Alter just doesn’t get it. See, “‘The Illustrated Man’.” Obama’s certainly socialist — or neo-socialist, as Jonah Goldberg has explained — and that’s to say nothing of “terror-coddling.” Our maddening times demand that the truth be forthrightly stated at the outset, and not just that the president has nothing in common with the [...]
French Teacher Suspended for Spending Too Much Time Teaching Holocaust

And the whitewashing continues.

French Teacher Suspended for Spending Too Much Time Teaching Holocaust FOX news

A history teacher has been suspended in France for spending too much time teaching students about the Holocaust.

Catherine Pederzoli, 58, a secondary school teacher who is Jewish, was accused of teaching the subject with insufficient neutrality for both her time dedicated to teaching about the Holocaust and trips she organized to former Nazi death camps, Pederzoli’s attorney Christine Tadic told Agence France-Presse.

"If this teacher had been a Christian, no one would have accused her of brain-washing," Tadic said. "Isn't it the case that this teacher's fault is to have been Jewish?"

A report compiled by school officials last month alleged that Pederzoli took up too much time preparing students for the annual school trips to Poland and the Czech Republic and accuses her of "lacking distance, neutrality and secularism" and "brain-washing" in teaching the Holocaust, AFP reported.

Tadic told the AFP that her client organized the trips for 15 years with no complaints and was unfairly targeted by a new school management team that arrived in 2007.

Authorities suspect Pederzoli of inciting a protest staged by some of her students in December after the school reduced the number of destinations on the Holocaust field trips, the AFP reported.

Judges have two weeks to decide whether or not to grant Pederzoli a court injunction to annul the suspension.

A Glenn Beck Rally and Our Current Culture of Bias
It is not news to hear that we are in an environment of bias which is fueled by our mainstream media. It is not even news when we hear that people who speak truth are pushed down by this sector. However, a recent situation has forced us to not only see the strength of this [...]
Unions Prevent Kids from Learning in L.A.
The L.A. Times has been publishing a great series about how the city’s schools have been dropping the ball on education. Specifically, the Times points out that the L.A. schools district has had at its disposal stats that could have helped it to engineer a better education policy for its students but has ignored these [...]
My name is Robert Reich and I am a Socialist.
Robert Reich wrote an op-ed for the New York Times yesterday touting the benefits of socialism and raising the tax on top earners to between 70-90%. He had other great ideas, like making public universities free, but then taking 10% of your income for the first 10 years or charging a carbon tax on everyone, then giving those same people their own money back in the form of raising the income limit on the Earned Income Credit up through the middle class. I'm wondering who he thinks would pay the bulk of that carbon tax? He likes “earnings insurance”, guaranteeing you a specific wage for up to two years if you take a lesser paying job. Also, he talked about expanded early childhood education paid for with a .5% tax on ALL financial transactions. Essentially, no area is untouched by the government in order to give, give, give. Folks would have absolutely no way to avoid being on the public dole if a plan like this were implemented.

Robert espouses the virtues of all this government intervention by pointing to the steps taken during The Great Depression.
THE Great Depression and its aftermath demonstrate that there is only one way back to full recovery: through more widely shared prosperity. In the 1930s, the American economy was completely restructured. New Deal measures — Social Security, a 40-hour work week with time-and-a-half overtime, unemployment insurance, the right to form unions and bargain collectively, the minimum wage — leveled the playing field.
What is left off this poignant and beautiful tale of government over-growth is the fact that many economists now believe much of what was done during this time only extended the depression. Moreover, he points to programs like Social Security-now operating in the red and will be bankrupt in a few years-and the unions-which are in such dire straights they are looking at stealing 401k's from hard working Americans who don't even belong to a union in order to pay their pensions and unfunded healthcare costs.

Reich complains the government isn't doing enough to make sure we have a more "widely shared prosperity". Suddenly, it is the governments responsibility to make sure you get your share of others labors. Regrettably Mr. Reich doesn't seem to be aware that is not how things are in the U.S. This idea of shared wealth and prosperity are erroneous theory; it has been tried many times, in many countries, in many forms, left only to fail in the end. The people lose their freedoms, the powerful gain all the wealth and power, the poor become vastly poorer and slaves to the masters. Those who produce will stop producing, they will take their wealth and their talents somewhere else and the rest of us will be left towing the line.
Climahypocrite Jesse Jackson’s SUV Stolen
Seriously, are there any climate alarmists other than Ed Begley, Jr, who aren’t hypocrites? Oh, sorry, my bad, discussing climahypocrites is apparently a deflection from the real issue that climate change will kill us all if everyone else would just stop driving their Cadillac Escalades Add Jesse Jackson’s ride to prominent vehicles being stripped in [...]
Let’s play: Ironic? Or Not? (part ii)
Alternate title: And the award for most hilarious example of irony in a major American city goes to…Detroit! Although, as usual, the irony in this story is open to interpretation: Following the embarrassing news that Mayor Dave Bing’s GMC Yukon was hijacked by criminals this week, Detroit’s Channel 7 reports that the Reverend (Jesse Jackson)’s [...]
